Emma has been practicing Yoga since 2008 and completed her teacher training at Yoga Bodhi with Simona Hernandez and Angela Roberts in 2015. Emma is influenced by many styles of Yoga, from gentle restorative, to fast paced flow. As an athlete (in her spare time!) Emma also brings in sports science knowledge and physiotherapy exercises to help with common injuries, aches and pains. And as with her own practice, Emma's teaching changes pace and intensity depending on what is needed to maintain balance and health. Breath work however is in integral to Emma's Yoga and each class begins with breath focus and manipulation to relieve tensions in the body and mind. Emma's instruction is clear and precise, however she strongly believes in moving in a way that feels good, so wriggling around is allowed and encouraged. On a spiritual level, Emma considers herself a student of the Yoga texts and most classes are based around a philosophical theme for example ahimsa (non-violence) or aparigraha (non-attachment). All levels are welcome in Emma's classes, and modifications will be offered to provide a safe and enjoyable practice for all.
